Leaderfied
According to a recent study by the Society For Human Resource Management, roughly 43% of employers across the U.S. rated recent university and college graduates as deficient in leadership, which was defined as the ability to “leverage the strengths of others to achieve common goals and use interpersonal skills to coach and develop others.” In addition, a survey by the Association of American Colleges and Universities found that only 39% of recent college graduates feel that college prepared them extremely or very well for success in today’s rapidly changing global economy.
How can universities and colleges help equip and prepare students with the new essential leadership skills and qualities to succeed in a world of constant change? Leaderfied, a unique, energizing, and practical leadership experience is designed to effectively engage, equip and empower tomorrow’s leaders today.
The signature Leaderfied program consists of three student contact sessions:
Leaderfied session one begins with a motivational speaking seminar designed to ignite the fire inside of students and inspire them to get involved in student programs on campus. Session one is usually conducted at the beginning of the academic year (First year experience, Welcome week etc…)
Leaderfied session two is a training workshop that usually occurs in early October or early January of the following year (after the holidays) and consists of interactive training on the leadership principles of self-leadership, team leadership, global leadership values (ethics and integrity), and diversity leadership. The workshop and breakout sessions are designed to facilitate student discussions on specific leadership challenges and responsibilities, and the leadership success workbooks give students a blueprint to take action immediately after session two.
Leaderfied session three is a follow-up training workshop with breakout sessions usually held in the spring, and designed to reinforce leadership principles and facilitate student discussions on current challenges action steps taken of being leaders on campus, in the community and how to overcome obstacles and circumvent existing challenges. With the guidance of Leaderfied Certified Trainers, students will complete a self-leadership strategy that identifies their vision, goals, strategy and action steps that are necessary for leadership success.
